My poem of choice was the song Bloodless by Andrew Bird. This song talks a lot about political polarization and its effects on society, bringing about violence and hatred. Bird also takes a stance against the rich getting richer and being ignorant/apathetic toward those who are suffering. I went for a very bold, political aesthetic within my animation to bring the power of the lyrics to the foreground.
